Version 1.25.0 Released

Version 1.25.0 is here.

This update focuses on Crownstead — not by replacing its existing systems, but by turning the city into a true reflection of everything the player has accomplished across Knights of Crystalis.

Over the last several updates, KoC has expanded through the Adventurer’s Guild, Monster Research, Legendary Affixes and the Hall of Legends.

Version 1.25.0 brings those systems back together.

Welcome to Crownstead Reforged.

Crownstead Becomes a True Meta-Hub

Crownstead now contains seven major civic districts, each tied to a different area of long-term progression.

Every district can be upgraded through three stages, creating a total of:

21 Civic Upgrades

These upgrades are not simply another source of combat stats.

Instead, they represent visible city development, prestige and account-wide accomplishments.

The seven districts connect Crownstead to:

  • Adventurer’s Guild progression
  • Bestiary and Monster Research
  • Hall of Legends
  • Legendary Imprinting and advanced equipment
  • Secrets and exploration
  • Chronicle and achievements
  • Arcade progression

The result is a city that increasingly reflects the way you actually play the game.

Seven Districts

Each district represents a major part of the wider KoC progression ecosystem.

Adventurer’s Guild Hall

Guild Contracts, Reputation and Legendary Bounties now contribute directly to Crownstead’s civic development.

Veteran adventurers can turn their Guild accomplishments into visible upgrades within the capital.

Naturalist Institute

Bestiary research, Monster Mastery and Menagerie-related progress now have a permanent place within Crownstead.

The more deeply you study the creatures of Crystalis, the more developed the Institute can become.

Hall of Legends Monument

Boss Rush accomplishments now feed back into the city.

Trial clears, records and Hall progression contribute toward the development of a dedicated Hall landmark.

Runesmith Quarter

Advanced equipment progression now has a stronger civic identity.

Legendary Imprinting and related Forge accomplishments contribute toward the Runesmith Quarter.

Cartographer’s Lodge

Exploration, secrets and map-related progression now help expand Crownstead’s exploration district.

This provides a permanent connection between world discovery and city development.

Chronicle Hall

Achievements and Chronicle milestones now contribute toward Crownstead’s prestige.

Large account-wide accomplishments can finally be reflected somewhere outside a menu.

Arcade District

Pixel Sweep and Monster Roamer now contribute toward their own Crownstead district.

The Arcade is no longer just a detached side activity — it has a physical place within the larger city progression.

Three Upgrade Stages Per District

Every district can be developed through three civic stages.

Unlocking these stages requires two things:

  • sufficient Crownstead development
  • real progress within the system associated with that district

This means the city cannot simply be maxed out by spending stored resources.

A player must actually have accomplished something in the connected content.

For example, a Hall district upgrade may require meaningful Hall progression.

A Naturalist upgrade may require sufficient Monster Research.

A Guild upgrade may depend on Guild milestones.

Resources allow the construction to happen, but progression provides the justification for it.

Veteran Progress Is Recognized

Existing long-term saves are supported.

If you already completed Guild, Hall, Bestiary, Forge, exploration, achievement or Arcade milestones before version 1.25.0, those accomplishments can count immediately toward the new district requirements.

You do not need to replay completed content simply because the city system was added later.

However, the physical Crownstead upgrades themselves still need to be constructed.

This means veteran progress is respected without automatically completing the new system.

Civic Renown

Crownstead Reforged introduces Civic Renown.

Renown represents how developed and prestigious the capital has become.

It grows as districts are upgraded and major Crownstead milestones are completed.

Rather than becoming another raw combat stat, Civic Renown functions primarily as a prestige and progression measure for the city itself.

New Crownstead titles are also tied to this broader civic progression.

Royal Trophy Gallery

A new Royal Trophy Gallery now tracks major account-wide accomplishments.

The gallery currently supports eight major milestone trophies.

These can represent accomplishments from systems such as:

  • Guild progression
  • Hall of Legends
  • Monster Research
  • equipment progression
  • exploration
  • Chronicle milestones
  • Arcade achievements
  • broader Crownstead development

The gallery is intended to make major achievements feel permanent.

Instead of completing something and only seeing a number change in a menu, important milestones can now become part of the identity of Crownstead itself.

Living Crownstead

Crownstead now reacts more directly to player progress.

As systems develop and milestones are reached, the city can display contextual reactions tied to those accomplishments.

The goal is to make Crownstead feel less like a static management interface and more like a capital shaped by the player’s history.

A powerful Guild should leave a mark.

A legendary monster hunter should leave a mark.

A Hall champion should leave a mark.

An accomplished explorer should leave a mark.

Version 1.25.0 begins making that visible.

New Crownstead Chronicle

District development is tracked through its own civic progression history.

Major upgrades become part of Crownstead’s development record, creating a more coherent sense of the city growing over time.

Two new Crownstead-focused Achievement lines have also been added to support long-term completion.

Long-Term Resource Sink

Crownstead Reforged is intentionally designed as a late-game resource sink.

Fully developing all seven districts requires:

  • 178,500 Treasury Gold
  • 1,302 Materials
  • 546 Influence
  • 28 Royal Crystals

These costs are spread across all 21 upgrades.

The system is intended to give established players a meaningful use for accumulated Crownstead resources without introducing an endless exponential cost curve.

No New Global Power Creep

One of the most important design decisions in 1.25.0 is what Crownstead upgrades do not provide.

The districts do not grant stacking global damage multipliers.

They do not provide permanent universal Crit bonuses.

They do not create another mandatory combat progression ladder.

Recent updates have already expanded build depth significantly through equipment, Monster Research and Hall progression.

Crownstead Reforged is primarily about:

  • prestige
  • world identity
  • long-term goals
  • visible progression
  • integration between systems

The city should become more impressive because you accomplished more — not because every building adds another percentage to your damage.

System Integration

One of the main goals of this update is to connect systems that previously lived in different parts of the UI.

The progression chain now increasingly looks like this:

Play content → achieve milestones → develop Crownstead → unlock visible civic prestige

Guild Contracts can influence the city.

Monster Research can influence the city.

Hall victories can influence the city.

Forge progression can influence the city.

Exploration can influence the city.

Achievements can influence the city.

Even Arcade progress can influence the city.

Crownstead becomes the place where all of those accomplishments meet.
