Version 1.45.0 Released
The Abyss no longer ends at the Black Crown.
Version 1.45.0 – The Endless Abyss expands the Abyss into a true long-term endgame mode with infinite progression, procedural modifiers, escalating danger, persistent run momentum, and permanent personal records.
The first five Abyss depths remain exactly where they belong: handcrafted progression content with their own Guardians, rewards, Mastery objectives, and Unique items.
But after defeating the Black Crown, a new option appears:
Descend Further.
From that point onward, there is no final floor.
Endless Abyss Unlocked
The Endless Abyss begins at Depth 6 after completing the existing five Abyss depths.
Depths 1–5 remain curated content.
Depth 6 and beyond are generated dynamically.
Every new depth creates a fresh expedition layer using combinations of:
- enemy groups
- Elite encounters
- Guardians
- route layouts
- Abyss Conditions
- Corruption scaling
- difficulty scaling
- reward scaling
There is no fixed maximum depth.
If your company survives, you can continue descending.
Extract or Descend
After defeating an Endless Guardian, you now face one of the most important decisions in the Abyss:
Extract Rewards
or
Descend Further
Extracting safely ends the run and secures your accumulated rewards.
Descending continues the same expedition into the next depth.
But the run does not reset.
Your current expedition state continues with you.
That includes:
- remaining Party Life
- Boons
- Curses
- Corruption
- Run Factor
- Guardian Streak
- current Abyss momentum
Choosing to descend restores 10% Party Life, but also adds 5 Corruption.
Every victory therefore makes the next decision more dangerous.
You can leave with what you have earned.
Or risk everything for more.
Procedural Endless Depths
Endless depths are generated from deterministic combinations of existing Abyss systems.
The goal is not pure randomness.
Each depth creates a recognizable challenge profile while still producing enough variation that long runs do not follow the exact same sequence every time.
Enemy families, Elite encounters, Guardians, routes, and modifiers are recombined as the expedition continues.
This allows the existing Abyss content to scale beyond its original five-depth structure without turning the mode into an unrelated second game.
Endless Conditions
Version 1.45.0 introduces 10 Endless Conditions.
These are procedural depth-wide modifiers that change how an expedition behaves.
Each Endless depth receives a combination of Conditions.
Early Endless depths use two Conditions.
Starting at Depth 16, depths can carry three Conditions simultaneously.
The deeper you go, the more likely it becomes that multiple dangerous modifiers interact with one another.
A party that performs extremely well under one condition may struggle when that same condition appears alongside another.
The result is a stronger emphasis on flexible builds rather than a single universal endgame setup.
Escalating Threat
The Endless Abyss continuously increases enemy power as depth rises.
There is no point where difficulty simply stops scaling.
Enemies, Elites, and Guardians all become progressively more dangerous.
Corruption continues to add additional pressure on top of that scaling.
This means that a Depth 20 expedition with high Corruption can be dramatically more dangerous than a relatively safe Depth 20 run.
The question is no longer just:
How deep can you go?
It is also:
How much risk can you carry while doing it?
Guardian Streak
Every Endless Guardian defeated during the same expedition increases your Guardian Streak.
The streak contributes directly to your reward potential.
The longer the run survives, the more valuable successful extraction becomes.
But the reward only matters if you eventually make it out.
Pushing one more depth can increase the payout.
It can also end the expedition.
That tension is now the core of the Endless Abyss.
Persistent Endless Records
Version 1.45.0 also introduces permanent Endless Abyss statistics.
The game now tracks:
- Deepest Descent
- Highest Corruption Clear
- Best Guardian Streak
- Best Reward Multiplier
- Total Endless Guardians Cleared
- Total Endless Extractions
These records persist between expeditions.
Some progression is recorded immediately rather than only at extraction.
Guardian victories, for example, remain part of your permanent record even if the expedition eventually fails.
A failed deep run can still become a new personal best.
Reward Scaling
Rewards now continue scaling alongside Endless difficulty.
Deeper depths, stronger Corruption, dangerous modifiers, and longer Guardian Streaks all contribute to the final payout.
To keep the economy under control, Endless reward scaling uses a defined upper cap rather than increasing without limit.
This allows deep runs to remain highly rewarding without allowing a single extreme expedition to completely destabilize progression elsewhere in the game.
Abyss Mastery Remains
Version 1.45.0 does not replace the systems introduced in Abyss Reborn or Abyss Mastery.
The existing five-depth progression remains intact.
That includes:
- Memory Shrine choices
- Elite Boon choices
- Black Pacts
- Boons
- Curses
- Corruption tiers
- Guardian mechanics
- Mastery Challenges
- First Clear rewards
- Abyss-exclusive Uniques
The Endless Abyss begins only after this progression has been completed.
The first five depths teach and develop the system.
The Endless Abyss tests how far you can push it.
Legacy Tower Remains
The original 400-floor Legacy Tower remains fully available.
Tower Insight progression is unchanged.
The three endgame structures now serve different purposes:
Legacy Tower A long-form structured climb.
Abyss Mastery Handcrafted branching expeditions with progression goals and unique rewards.
The Endless Abyss Infinite scaling, procedural conditions, risk management, and personal records.
