Version 1.50.45 Released

Version 1.50.45 expands two systems that had started to outgrow their original design:

  • the Endless Campaign
  • the in-game Chat channels

The result is a much more coherent endgame structure and a cleaner simulated MMO communication system.

The Endless Campaign now behaves much more like a real continuation of the world after the handcrafted story ends, while Chat channels finally have clearly separated identities instead of constantly blending into each other.

Endless Campaign Now Continues the Story Structure

Previously, the Endless Campaign existed as a separate procedural combat mode.

It worked, but it did not fully feel like the world continued after the final handcrafted Chapter.

That has now changed.

The progression structure is effectively:

Story Chapter 1 → ... → Chapter 16

followed by:

Procedural Chapter 17 → 18 → 19 → 20 → ... infinitely

The original sixteen Chapters remain handcrafted story content.

Starting with Chapter 17, the game transitions into an endlessly generated campaign.

Procedural Chapters

Each Endless Region is now presented as a:

Procedural Chapter

This gives the mode a much stronger connection to the existing Campaign structure.

A normal procedural Chapter contains:

7 locations / events

The route can include:

  • Combat
  • World Events
  • NPC Encounters
  • additional Combat
  • Treasure Zones
  • Mini-Dungeons
  • Region Guardian Bosses

This makes Endless progression feel much closer to travelling through a generated adventure rather than simply completing five combat encounters.

Eight Procedural Location Types

The expanded generator now supports:

8 different encounter types

Combat

Standard battles using the existing Auto-Combat system.

Elite Encounter

A stronger enemy group with increased danger and rewards.

World Event

Procedural world situations that can provide decisions and resources.

NPC Encounter

Travellers, adventurers and other characters can appear during the journey.

Treasure Zone

Optional reward-focused locations containing valuable resources.

Mini-Dungeon

Short dungeon encounters with increased danger and loot.

Major Landmark

Rare important locations used primarily in larger procedural Chapters.

Region Guardian

The final Boss encounter of the procedural Chapter.

Major Chapters

Every tenth Endless Region now becomes a:

Major Chapter

Major Chapters are larger than normal procedural Chapters.

Instead of seven locations, they contain:

9 locations

They can include:

  • additional Elite encounters
  • a Major Landmark
  • more complex routes
  • stronger enemies
  • improved rewards
  • additional Mastery progression
  • a more dangerous Guardian Boss

This gives long Endless runs periodic milestones instead of making every procedural Chapter feel structurally identical.

Endless Progression Example

The progression can now look like:

Chapter 16 – Final handcrafted story Chapter

Chapter 17 – Procedural Region

Chapter 18 – Procedural Region

Chapter 19 – Procedural Region

...

Chapter 26 – Major Procedural Chapter

...

Chapter 116

Chapter 1,016

and potentially much further.

There is no intended final procedural Chapter.

Deterministic Procedural Generation

Generated Chapters remain stable.

Reloading the game does not reroll the entire Chapter until the player receives an easier route.

For a given procedural Region, the generated structure remains deterministic.

This applies to:

  • region theme
  • modifiers
  • encounter route
  • landmarks
  • NPC encounters
  • Boss structure

This protects the Endless Campaign from reload-based reroll exploitation.

Real Rewards

Procedural exploration is not purely cosmetic.

World Events, NPC encounters, Treasure Zones and Major Landmarks can provide real rewards such as:

  • Gold
  • Crystals
  • Paragon EXP
  • Mastery Stars
  • crafting materials
  • equipment
  • other progression resources

This makes exploration between battles meaningful.

Endless Scaling Remains Infinite

The deep-scaling improvements introduced in 1.50.44 remain active.

Enemy difficulty continues increasing far beyond the early Endless Regions.

The expanded world generator was stress-tested through:

50,000 procedural Regions

Results included:

  • invalid Regions: 0
  • Major Chapters generated: 5,000
  • all 8 encounter types successfully generated
  • difficulty continued scaling
  • no procedural hard stop detected

The campaign therefore remains structurally and numerically endless.

Chat Channels Now Have Real Identities

The second major part of this update addresses an issue that became increasingly obvious as the Social Simulation expanded.

Technically, Chat already had separate tabs.

But the actual topics appearing inside those tabs were too loosely controlled.

As a result, Global Chat could frequently contain:

  • Arena discussion
  • Raid announcements
  • rare-item discussions
  • Patch reactions
  • other specialized topics

The channels existed visually, but the simulated NPC conversations often behaved like one large shared Chat.

This has now been redesigned.

Global

Global is now focused on:

  • general community discussion
  • world progression
  • Campaign discussion
  • general builds
  • farming
  • Mine activity
  • monsters
  • exploration
  • casual conversation

Specialized competitive or economic topics should no longer dominate Global.

Trade

Trade now focuses on:

  • equipment
  • rare drops
  • item value
  • Auction House
  • trading
  • Forge
  • crafting
  • Sets
  • Uniques
  • economic discussion

Rare Drop reactions are now routed here instead of automatically appearing in Global.

Raid

Raid focuses on:

  • Raid Bosses
  • Boss kills
  • group composition
  • Raid builds
  • sustain
  • Raid loot
  • difficult cooperative encounters

Boss-kill social reactions now route into the Raid channel.

Guild

Guild focuses on:

  • Guild members
  • Guild projects
  • Guild progression
  • expeditions
  • research
  • shared objectives
  • internal company activity

This makes Guild Chat feel more like an actual group-specific communication channel.

Arena

Arena now contains:

  • PvP discussion
  • Arena rankings
  • matchups
  • builds
  • Nemesis battles
  • Rival progression
  • competitive results

Arena-result reactions now appear here rather than being pushed into Global.

System

System remains a:

read-only channel

It contains:

  • Patch Notes
  • automatic system notices
  • world-state reports
  • Crownstead reports
  • important game announcements

Players cannot manually start NPC conversations in this channel.

Reactive Social Events Now Route Correctly

The Social Simulation introduced several automatic Chat reactions in earlier updates.

These are now routed according to their subject.

Final routing is:

Boss Kill → Raid

Rare Drop → Trade

Arena Result → Arena

Patch Note → System

Crownstead Report → System

This significantly reduces the feeling that every Chat tab is discussing the same thing.

Existing Saves Are Cleaned Up Too

The fix is not limited to newly generated messages.

Existing saves may already contain specialized messages stored inside Global.

When a save loads, the game now examines older simulated messages and can migrate clearly miscategorized posts.

Examples:

  • Arena-result post in Global → moved to Arena
  • Rare-item discussion in Global → moved to Trade
  • Raid Boss discussion → moved to Raid
  • Patch announcement → moved to System

Normal Global conversations remain untouched.

The migration only targets messages whose intended category can be identified reliably.

Player Messages Remain Flexible

The channel system is stricter for automated NPC simulation, but it is not intended to become unnatural.

If the player briefly mentions Arena while talking in Global, the game does not automatically rip that message out of the conversation.

The stricter categorization primarily affects:

  • generated NPC threads
  • automatic Social Simulation reactions
  • legacy incorrectly routed automated messages

This keeps the Chat organized without making conversations feel mechanically censored.

NPC Conversation Button

The clearer naming introduced in 1.50.44 remains active.

The previous:

START THREAD

button now reads:

English

START NPC CONVERSATION

German

NPC-GESPRÄCH STARTEN

The generated conversation now also respects the selected Chat channel much more strictly.

Starting a conversation in Arena therefore creates an Arena-focused discussion rather than pulling randomly from the full general topic pool.
