Version 1.50.43 Released

Version 1.50.43 is a focused usability update for the in-game Chat.

After the recent Social Simulation Expansion made Global Chat much more active, a few layout problems became more visible—especially on mobile devices.

Some long messages could extend beyond the visible area, quoted replies were occasionally cut off, and the Chat feed itself could grow so tall that navigating the page became unnecessarily tedious.

This update fixes those issues and makes the Chat much more comfortable to use.

Long Messages Now Display Correctly

Long Chat messages now wrap properly inside their message cards.

Previously, some combinations of layout rules could force text wider than the available mobile space.

This was especially noticeable with longer NPC discussions.

The new layout now correctly handles:

  • long sentences
  • narrow smartphone displays
  • long words
  • dynamic Chat widths
  • resized browser windows

Messages should remain fully readable without extending beyond the right edge of the interface.

Reply Quotes Now Wrap

Quoted messages inside replies had their own problem.

The preview line previously used a forced single-line layout, which meant longer quotes could simply disappear beyond the edge of the screen.

Reply previews can now wrap across multiple lines.

This keeps both:

  • the quoted NPC name
  • and the referenced message text

visible on smaller screens.

The Chat Feed No Longer Creates an Endless Page

The largest usability improvement is the new bounded Chat viewport.

The Chat feed now has its own internal scrolling area instead of continuously increasing the total page height.

This means players no longer need to scroll through a massive amount of Chat history just to reach the rest of the interface.

The main page remains much more compact.

Newest Messages Stay Accessible

When the Chat opens, the message viewport now starts near the latest messages.

New incoming messages also keep the Chat positioned near the bottom when appropriate.

This makes the feed behave more like a modern messaging interface rather than a long static webpage.

Better Reply Navigation

Selecting a quoted reply can still move the player to the referenced message.

However, that navigation now happens:

inside the Chat viewport

instead of scrolling the entire game page.

This keeps the surrounding UI stable and makes conversation threads easier to follow.

Mobile Known Personalities Improvement

The expanded Social Simulation also increased the amount of NPC information available around Chat.

On smaller displays, the Known Personalities section could add another large block of page height below the conversation.

On mobile devices, this section now uses its own compact scrolling area.

This keeps the Social interface usable even as the number of simulated NPC personalities continues to grow.

Root Cause Fix

The issue was not caused by a single message.

A later responsive CSS rule was overriding the intended Chat height limit with an unrestricted layout.

At the same time:

  • Reply previews forced single-line text
  • certain message containers lacked proper minimum-width handling

Version 1.50.43 corrects all three underlying problems rather than simply shortening NPC dialogue.

Longer conversations can therefore remain part of the game without breaking the interface.

Social Simulation Remains Intact

No Social Simulation functionality was removed.

The systems introduced in 1.50.42 remain available, including:

  • NPC Direct Messages
  • Friend Builds
  • Item Trading
  • evolving Rivals
  • Nemesis memory
  • Nemesis Adaptation
  • reactive Global Chat
  • Boss kill reactions
  • Rare Drop reactions
  • Arena reactions
  • Patch Note discussion
  • Crownstead reactions

This update only improves how those conversations are displayed and navigated.
