Version 1.43.0 Released

The Abyss has changed.

With Version 1.43.0 – Abyss Reborn, the endgame receives a new branching expedition system built around risk, long-term survival, and meaningful route choices — while keeping the fully automated combat philosophy of Knights of Crystalis intact.

Instead of simply climbing another linear sequence of floors, you now descend through five distinct Abyss depths, each with its own enemies, elite encounters, Guardian, and increasing level of danger.

The New Abyss

Abyss Reborn introduces five sequential regions:

  • Threshold of Ash
  • The Drowned Choir
  • Null Catacombs
  • The Starless Maw
  • The Black Crown

Each depth is divided into multiple layers. Before moving forward, you choose between two or three possible routes.

Possible encounters include regular battles, Abyss Elites, recovery areas, buried treasure, Memory Shrines, and dangerous Black Pacts.

Combat itself remains completely automated. The decisions happen between encounters, allowing the Abyss to add strategy without turning the game into manual combat.

Corruption — Risk vs. Reward

Every route carries consequences.

Dangerous choices increase your Corruption, making the expedition increasingly hostile — but also improving the potential rewards at the end of the run.

Safer paths can help your company survive longer, while aggressive routes can produce much stronger payouts if your party is capable of handling the additional pressure.

Black Pacts push this system even further by granting powerful advantages alongside permanent drawbacks for the current expedition.

Boons & Curses

Abyss runs can now be shaped by temporary modifiers.

There are:

  • 8 temporary Boons
  • 6 temporary Curses

Boons can improve Attack, Life, Defense, Speed, recovery, Guardian damage, Magic Find, and other expedition bonuses.

Curses increase the danger in exchange for stronger final rewards.

These effects only exist for the current Abyss expedition, meaning every descent can develop into a different build.

Persistent Expedition Life

Unlike normal encounters, your party does not automatically return to perfect condition after every fight.

Party Life persists throughout the expedition.

Damage taken early in a run can therefore matter several encounters later. Rest routes and recovery-focused Boons become strategically valuable, especially in the deeper Abyss.

Your selected party and Party Tactics are snapshotted when the expedition begins, so preparation matters before entering.

New Enemies & Guardians

Abyss Reborn adds an entirely new enemy roster:

15 new Abyss enemies 5 named Elite mini-bosses 5 dedicated Abyss Guardians

Every depth ends with its own Guardian encounter, including:

  • The Hollow Warden
  • The Cantor Below
  • The Null Shepherd
  • The Maw of Stars
  • The Crown Beneath

Enemy strength and mechanics escalate significantly as you descend toward the Black Crown.

Six Abyss-Exclusive Uniques

The update also introduces six new named Unique items that can only be discovered through Abyss Reborn.

Among them are:

  • Heart Below the World
  • Bell of the Drowned Choir
  • Nullglass Edge
  • Ashwalker Greaves
  • Crown of the Starless Maw
  • Seal of the Black Crown

First clears provide guaranteed signature Unique rewards for each depth, creating a clear progression path through the new endgame.

Repeated clears remain valuable through additional resources, crafting materials, maps, and further chances at Abyss loot.

The Legacy Tower Remains

Abyss Reborn does not replace the original Tower.

The existing 400-floor Abyss Tower remains playable as the Legacy Tower, and all existing Tower Insight progression is preserved.

Players who enjoy the original long-form climb can continue progressing exactly as before, while Abyss Reborn provides a separate, more dynamic endgame experience.
