Version 1.50.25 Released

Version 1.50.25 expands the recent mobile-interface work beyond the Arcade and applies a broader responsive polish pass across Knights of Crystalis as a whole.

The goal of this release is simple: make the existing game interface more reliable, readable, and comfortable across smartphones, tablets, and narrow desktop windows without changing gameplay, progression, economy, or save behavior.

Global Responsive Pass

The responsive layer has been reviewed across the entire game instead of focusing on a single route or subsystem.

The update targets common interface patterns shared across KoC, including:

  • Navigation
  • Headers
  • Panels
  • Cards
  • Action groups
  • Forms
  • Dialogs
  • Summary grids
  • Toolbars
  • Mobile touch controls

Special attention was given to smartphone widths in the 320–430 px range.

Mobile Topbar Reworked

The main application header had accumulated more controls over time and could become crowded on smaller screens.

The mobile topbar now handles:

  • KoC branding
  • All six quick actions
  • Save status
  • Resource information

using a clearer responsive layout.

At narrow widths, the header now transitions into a more deliberate vertical arrangement instead of attempting to preserve a compressed desktop layout.

Navigation Improvements

Primary and secondary navigation have been hardened for narrow screens.

The responsive rules now reduce the risk of:

  • Cramped navigation items
  • Unexpected overflow
  • Overlapping controls
  • Very small touch targets
  • Desktop layouts overriding mobile breakpoints

This continues the CSS cascade hardening work started during the Arcade mobile hotfix.

Consistent Touch Targets

Interactive controls across the affected UI now maintain more consistent mobile-friendly sizing.

Buttons and other important interactive elements aim for a minimum touch height of approximately:

44 px

This improves usability on phones without requiring larger desktop controls.

Panel and Toolbar Improvements

Many KoC screens contain panel headers with several actions.

These action groups now wrap more predictably when horizontal space becomes limited.

Toolbars and form controls can also transition into stacked layouts where necessary instead of forcing controls into increasingly narrow columns.

This improves readability while reducing accidental horizontal overflow.

Mobile Dialog Improvements

Dialog and modal behavior has been improved on small screens.

Mobile dialogs now better respect the available viewport height using modern dynamic viewport sizing.

Modal content can scroll independently while keeping important structural elements such as headers and actions usable.

This helps prevent dialogs from extending beyond the visible phone screen.

iOS Form Input Fix

Input fields on smartphones now use mobile-safe typography where required.

In particular, affected fields use at least 16 px text sizing on narrow screens to reduce unwanted automatic page zoom behavior in iOS Safari when focusing form controls.

Safe Area Support

Layout handling around modern phone display cutouts and home indicators has been improved.

Responsive spacing now better respects mobile safe areas, reducing the chance that important interface controls sit too close to screen edges or hardware UI zones.

Responsive Summary Grids

Statistic cards and summary panels throughout the game have received stronger narrow-screen fallbacks.

Layouts that normally use several columns can now collapse progressively as available width decreases.

For especially narrow screens, selected grids can fall back to a single-column presentation instead of compressing content until labels become unreadable.

Touch-Specific Interaction Polish

Hover-based movement and transforms can behave awkwardly on touch devices.

The global mobile layer now avoids several unnecessary hover-style transformations where touch is the primary interaction method.

This keeps cards and controls visually stable during taps.

Arcade Mobile Fixes Preserved

The dedicated Arcade mobile corrections introduced in version 1.50.24 remain fully active.

This includes:

  • Two-column mobile Command Deck
  • Cabinet hero spacing
  • Responsive cabinet briefing layout
  • Improved Arcade touch targets
  • Hardened narrow-screen Arcade rules

Version 1.50.25 extends the same general quality standard to the rest of Knights of Crystalis.

No Gameplay Changes

This release does not modify gameplay systems.

The following remain unchanged:

  • Combat
  • Campaign progression
  • Economy
  • Rewards
  • Hero progression
  • Arsenal
  • Crownstead progression
  • Atlas
  • Abyss
  • Arcade progression
  • Challenges
  • Achievements
  • Records
  • Meta Progression
  • Hall of Fame
  • Cabinet Quests

game.js remains byte-identical to version 1.50.24.
