Version 1.37 Released

Version 1.37 is now available.

This update focuses on improving the game’s overall polish, usability, performance, and long-term stability without changing the core campaign balance or breaking compatibility with existing saves.

Rather than simply adding more content, v1.37 improves several systems that become increasingly important as Browser Defense Force continues to grow.

Loadout Presets

You can now save and restore multiple loadout presets for each class.

This makes it much easier to maintain specialized setups for different situations, such as:

  • Swarm clearing
  • Boss fights
  • Anti-air combat
  • Frontline missions
  • Experimental or favorite weapon combinations

The goal is to reduce unnecessary menu time and make the large weapon arsenal easier to manage.

Improved Weapon Comparison

The weapon comparison system has been expanded to provide more useful combat information.

Comparisons can now include values such as:

  • Burst DPS
  • Sustained DPS
  • Damage per magazine
  • Reload performance
  • Projectile velocity
  • Splash characteristics
  • Armor-breaking potential

With more than 500 weapons in the current game, raw damage alone is no longer enough to properly evaluate a weapon.

After Action Reports

Mission results now provide a more detailed summary of your performance.

The new report can track statistics such as:

  • Enemy kills
  • Shots fired
  • Damage received
  • Boss encounters
  • Loot collected
  • Most-used weapons

This adds more feedback after each operation and creates a better foundation for future personal records, rankings, and challenge systems.

Desktop Mouse Improvements

Desktop controls received another refinement pass.

New mouse-related options improve control customization for PC players, including additional sensitivity handling and inverted Y-axis support.

These changes are isolated from the existing touch and controller systems, so mobile and gamepad controls remain unaffected.

Combat Performance Improvements

Several combat hot paths were optimized.

Some frequently executed weapon and explosion routines previously created temporary 3D vector objects during gameplay. These areas have been cleaned up to reduce unnecessary memory allocation and garbage collection pressure.

The difference may be subtle on high-end desktop hardware, but it is more important during large battles, high fire rates, and on mobile devices or integrated GPUs.

Damage Flash Optimization

The screen damage effect has also been simplified internally.

Instead of allowing repeated hits to create unnecessary overlapping browser timers, the game now uses a more controlled update path.

This reduces timer churn during heavy combat and makes the effect more predictable under stress.

HUD Collision Detection

A new internal HUD safety system has been added.

After important layout or viewport changes, the game can now check for problematic overlaps between critical interface elements, including areas such as:

  • Radar
  • Options
  • CPU squad display
  • Callout controls
  • EDF button

This system is diagnostic only. It does not randomly move interface elements during gameplay.

Its purpose is to make future desktop and mobile layout regressions easier to detect before release.
